MEET DANISH NATIONAL TEAM SKATER
LUKE RASCH / CRAIL ALL DAY
We’re proud to introduce our ambassador, Luke Rasch. He is a 20 year old skater living his everyday life in Klitmøller in Thy. Luke is part of the national team in Denmark and is travelling around the World to attend skating competitions.
Luke is always on the move, skating every day. It is important to him just to have fun skating in his everyday life and while exploring the World.
We sat down with Luke to talk about his favorite travel spots, must-have gear, and life as a pro skater.

About Skating as a Career
Can you share how you first got into skating and what inspired you to pursue it professionally?
First I got into skating because I had a lot of energy as a kid and therefore started skating at the age of 3. I guess, I just had fun every day, so I have been skating ever since.
What has been the most memorable moment of your career so far and why?
I have always been skating for the sessions and for the everyday fun. But the one I am proud to look back on and tell people about would be the World Cup in 2022 in Italy. I didn’t win, but it was great learning experience to attend such a big event.

What does skating represent for you personally? Can you describe the feeling it gives you?
It gives me a feeling of freedom – that I can go anywhere. I love meeting new people and exploring the world through skating.
About Traveling
As a professional skater, you travel a lot. What are some of your favorite destinations and why?
As a skater you travel a lot and I have already seen great places around the World.
I would say the USA is my favorite so far; as a skater it's cool to see where the sport was founded and where it develops the fastest now. The USA is where all the great parks are and you can find great inspiration anywhere there.
For me personally while not skating, I just love to explore cities in Europe and find new unique places to visit.

How do you balance the demands of travel with maintaining your performance and training routines?
For a skater it is kind of easy to practice it while on the road; of course, you can skate anywhere. So the training seems easy for me to maintain while traveling.
It is more a lifestyle for me and I just can’t stop skating – it is very natural for me to skate everywhere I am and therefore it never feels like training, but just a part of living.

What’s your best travel/packing hack? Are there any specific packing hacks or tips you’ve picked up from years of traveling for competitions?
As a skateboarder it is kind of hard to get a skateboard on an airplane, because it's too long. Over the years I found out I could just put it under my t-shirt or hoodie without being noticed. Though after getting to know Nomad and starting to use their products, I always place the board in the big Duffel Bag Suitcase between my clothes.

About Nomad and Travel Gear
How have our travel bags and products made your travel experiences more convenient and enjoyable?
What I like about the Nomad products is that all the bags are very light and easy to just put on your shoulder - and you are ready to go.
The products are very classic and stylish and easily go with any of my outfits.
On a practical point of view the products are convenient with pockets and nice features such as the waterproof nylon.
Lastly, in the airport the initials are a must, which makes it easy to recognize your bag.
